At first, I was not sure what types of dinosaur I should use. So I did some research of different types of dinosaurs which appeared in the movie. There are roughly 6 kinds of them. I had some cover sketches with different species. I decided to use t-rex and raptor at last. Because these two should be the species that will give people the strongest impression. Then, the t-rex vs. the raptors scene with a classic banner became my final reference target.
My original idea for the background design was drawing a mountain. But through my tutor’s advice; firstly there is no mountain in the movie, so it may get viewers confused. Secondly, I should keep my background as simple as possible.Hence,I thought why not just put some gridding on it... Just like the picture I saw on animations or movies when the scene shows an information table for a beast.
